Whilst I definitely do not make it a habit to showcase a second-shooter's images on my blog, I quite simply couldn't resist these.
First off, they are much too cute not to post and, above all, I noticed Stella didn't either. Secondly, this post will buy me some time to do my write-up for the next wedding.
To be read in the whispered tones of David Attenborough:
There she is. The innocent and endearingly wholesome flowergirl. Yes, entirely discreet to the naked eye; merely observing the bride and groom cut the cake. And then, remarkably, with no warning whatever, she then swiftly pounces on the unsuspecting cupcake and, without fear nor favour, it's over. The cupcake is devoured and no-one has noticed a thing.
After taking the wrong turn far too many times, Stella and I finally found our location for the creatives.
Content with our discovery, we crossed our fingers in the hope it wouldn't rain and also crossed our toes hoping our bridal couple would be game for an off-site location.
There are really no words to describe how special and intimate their ceremony was. Outside on the lawn, it was a small, profound and beautiful exchange of vows, between two people before those most dearest to them.
After the ceremony, we realised our crossing of fingers was of no help (the toes worked though), as almost timed to perfection, the rain decided to join us for the creative portraits.
Given the cold and wet weather we faced, the fact Betty has a thing about dirty feet and this preposterous request made by the photographers, I have to say Thank you. I really should get medals made...you guys deserved Gold!
Now, just before I post these, I really have to mention both Betty and Richard are adamant (in bold and I would have underlined it 10 times) they are very uncomfortable hate facing the camera. To this end, I present you, the viewers, with the images for you to decide!
Betty. Richard. I say you guys rocked the camera - Northcliff hill will never be the same!.

Oh, they are sutnning!!! Can't choose a favourite, but love Betty's laugh :) Thank you Betty and Richard for indulging us, you were fabulous!
(05.17.10 @ 02:55 PM)Well, they sure look like professionals to me! Lovely, Lovely images!
(05.17.10 @ 07:50 PM)Well done ladies, this must be the first time I havent cringed when seeing pics of myself! We loved having you both there and a big thank you for being so awesome :) Love love love the pics
(05.18.10 @ 08:56 AM)Oh these are incredible images!! Love the water tower!! I thought the place was fenced off
(05.18.10 @ 10:12 AM)That last image...just tells it all.The sky,the city in the background...it looks as if they are just on the edge... glorious.......as usual. love it!
(05.24.10 @ 04:45 PM)Given the propensity for rain in Gauteng during the summer months, I always, without fail, keep a spare black umbrella in the car. An aesthetically pleasing umbrella, which can be used by the bridal couple during the photography session - should it rain.
Murphy's Law at the first wedding: I needed the "pretty" umbrella, only to discover I had forgotten to retrieve it from Ursula's car the weekend beforehand.
Here is a sneak peak from Betty's and Richard's wedding (with the back-up midget umbrellas). The full post later this week.

I really need to do that... but those bright ones are so so awesome!! Love them!
(05.12.10 @ 09:42 AM)I agree those are so cute, the black umbrella would have been rather dull in comparisson
(05.12.10 @ 06:35 PM)They worked better than the "pretty" umbrella - I need to get some :) Such a sweet shot...
(05.14.10 @ 11:31 AM)Does it ever end!?!
As a result, I am a little late with a couple of weddings, which I will soon share, but, right now, I'm excited to post photos from Michelle's & Matthew's wonderful ceremony.
I'm trying my utmost to type fast, in order to make the post before the connection decides to depart.
So, swiftly onto Michelle and Mathew...
No pacing, no mayhem. Michelle was calm. She was cool. She was collected.
I am not sure what it was like on the other side of the venue, with Matthew the groom, but, Michelle was definitely calm.
The ceremony too was equally as calm, relaxed and, overlooking the Magaliesberg mountains, the setting was simply breathtaking.
A perfect day. Thank you Michelle & Matthew.

Beautiful pictures!
(05.07.10 @ 01:42 PM)Eye candy! Love her dress!
(05.11.10 @ 04:39 PM)Beautiful post! Thank you Michelle and Matthew for a lovely day. Thanks Andrea :)
(05.12.10 @ 08:19 AM)As the mornings become more nippy, I know winter's advancing into our corner of the world.
Even though the African winters are not that cold, I am not fond of wintry weather, in whatever shape or form.
Those few aspects of winter I do take pleasure in, however, are enjoying a glass of red wine, watching the glowing flames in our fireplace, slurping down a hot chunky broth (I love homemade soup) and the incredible shades of light this season brings.
Here's Oliver on his bike, along with that amazing winter light:

On another note we have had no power in our area for two whole days, so I am a little behind with emails, I will get there I promise.
After West African weather, believe me, South African winters are FREEEEZING! As for no power, time for SA to get used to generators. Love the light pouring down on to Oliver in the 2nd pic.
(04.30.10 @ 10:56 AM)I must say Andrea, Have the neighbours not reported this strange woman running around the neighbourhood with a big camera?
(04.30.10 @ 02:58 PM)SA homes are not equipped for winter so it is indeed freeeeeeeezing, add into that equation some powercuts and you will realise why I am not that keen on the forecoming season. @ Paul ...who are you calling strange ;-) - I find my morning mullet, baggy eyes and "gucci" tracksuit tends to distract viewers from the black camera
(04.30.10 @ 06:11 PM)Beautiful pics, gotta love South Africa and the light it brings, and especially the wine we have :)
(05.03.10 @ 08:12 PM)Wow... great job!
Every time is a nice time to look on your website! Every time it brings a big smile on my face. Your work is stunning!!
And SA... I miss SA... not only the light, but also droe wors, biltong, savanna, droe mango, chutney, peppermintcrisp and lots of jelly tots ;-)

Thanks for posting theses, Andrea! It's funny what you miss when going through the images sometimes...love the David Attenborough write up :) You have a wonderful way with words on top of being a fabulously talented photographer!
(05.25.10 @ 07:45 AM)What a laugh... I even did the voice in David Attenborough. This just finished me off! My precious little niece who got those chocolate fingers all over the maid of honours dress. Thanks Andrea or should I say Stella :)
(05.25.10 @ 12:55 PM)I can not take full credit for the wording either, as my written drafts are proofed and polished by DH extrodinaire.
(05.25.10 @ 02:47 PM)Love it!
