About Me

I am a mother of three boys (three boys, being punished for my sins!) and have been a fan of photography for years. I started shooting weddings seriously about five years ago. With the arrival of my twins, I decided to reduce my working hours in order to spend more time at home with my boys. Using photography to make up for the loss of income was a natural progression.

This is where you will be able to catch regular excerpts of what I am up to...

I somehow tend to sway towards the creatives when selecting for the blog, so here you are, some real moments from Gabi & Llewelyn's ceremony and reception.

12 bottles of wine arrived yesterday with the following note inside the box;

Dear Andrea & Ursula
Thank you so much for making our wedding so special and memorable. You are both amazingly talented and we feel so fortunate to have you both. We will cherish our photographs for years to come.
These are two of our favourite wines. We hope you enjoy them.Enjoy a glass of wine on us in the sunshine.
Love Florian and Tracy

A whooping "Cheers!" Tracy, Florian! Thank you, the pleasure was really ours!

I'm sipping the delicious Life from Stone Sauvignon Blanc as I type this blog post. No sunshine, but hey, I have good wine!

Cheers!

This week came and went WAAAAY faster than I expected.

So, when I got up this morning and was going over my emails and admin, I suddenly realised....OMG....I haven't posted in 8 days!...GASP!

So, being gravely overdue with my blogging responsibilities, I decided to check in and introduce Candice and Trent, who were married at the Hertford Hotel - you may remember their engagement shoot from not too long ago.

Thank you both.  It was a fantastic wedding with a great party and a lot of heart throughout the day - my gratitude for inviting us to share it with you.

And, finally, no question, Derek and Kerry-Anne also need a mention.   It was good to see you and nice to know that married life has not changed you - you are both as wild as you were on your wedding day. Derek may have been a little more wild!

Them Pimms & lemonade look as delicious and refreshing as they were on the actual day. We ignored the water and snuck one in!

Once again a rushed picture selection, I am sure there are many more crackers lurking in the Candice & Trent folder that will get onto the blog at a later stage - as there was a very dramatic sky indeed, coupled with a very cool and relaxed couple.

mandy:

you always get the dramatic skys, so spoilt. Ursula's photo is stunning, love it .also i cant figure out the photo with the "mirrow" is it the rear view mirrow... because the relfection behind looks like she's outside the car.. hectic.

Andrea Carlyle:

It is actually the reflection in the sun shields...not sure of the name??? them things on top of the windshield, in the car, that you normally use to apply lipstick! It was on the way to the ceremony inside the car.

One of the things I must confess to here and now (sssssssshhhhhh. Do not spread the word)  is - I do not count images, since I am not a bean counter. In fact, I will never be a bean counter.

I realise my packages do stipulate a minimum number of pictures to be handed over and that defined number is always met.

In reality, the couple receive all the best images from the big day, which isn't, by any means, a quantifiable number - it quite simply depends on how many great images were captured on the day itself.

That is why editing sometimes takes a little longer.

It's always such an honour (and a tad nerve-wracking) when a high profile Johannesburg photographer refers us, so the pressure was most definately on!

Ursula and I headed out to Memoire and when we saw the awesome sky, we knew exactly where we were going to head for the photos - there was also a must-have we left 'til last.

I realise the burnt veld and the final location did raise an eyebrow or two, but, I am sure you will agree, it was worth it!

Samantha (and Sergio), you guys are legends, conquering rough, burnt terrains, dust storms and a dodgy shebeen, with a few intoxicated onlookers.

Thank you for trusting us on our jaunt out for such a great set of images - we can't wait for you to see the rest!
